The Hilly Hundred is a ride sponsored and organized by The Central Indiana Bicycling Association. There are generally 5000 people who participate in this event. It is a well organized ride with plenty of food/drink stops, great lunches, and wonderful scenery of the Southern Indiana Hills and Fall foliage. We campout in Paynetown State Recreation Area on Monroe Lake on our own. The campout is not affiliated with the Hilly Hundred. We drive to Ellettsville, located just west of Bloomington, where the ride begins at the school each day. This is a 15 mile drive from our campsites. This is a two day ride consisting of a 50 mile loop on Saturday and Sunday. We campout on Friday and Saturday, October 12 &13th. We always have a great time with plenty of food, drink, cigars, and songs around the campfire. We have already reserved 16 campsites at Paynetown, which will provide enough parking for 32 cars. I would estimate that the cost per person will be around $28.00, which covers the cost of the camping for two nights and the firewood. It does not cover registration. I have to buy the firewood over there this year since there is a Federal Law that prohibits transporting firewood out of the State of Ohio due to the problem with the Emerald Ash Borer. In past years, I have taken it over from my stockpile on the Farm. Registration can be done online. Do not sign up for any extra breakfasts, or dinners. We will consume these meals at our campsite. This is a great weekend of biking and fun with the great folks of Gears 4 Beers. Last year we had 35 people, and I hope that more come this year. Every year it gets bigger. Please sign up on our online Google Spreadsheet put together by Fraser so we can get an estimate of how many will be coming. Monies will be collected at the campsites during the Hilly Hundred Weekend. Don't miss the Karaoke contest between Larencio and Fasigowitz ! If you should have any questions, please email me at: thunderhawkk(at)yahoo(dot)com I hope to see you there!
